Classic Apple crumble

Sorry that I haven’t posted anything for a while. I am going on a school trip for a week so I’ll not be able to post anything for that amount of time.

I Love Apple crumble, when I was small and lived in London my dad would always make this for me. Lets get cooking.

You will need:

  1. 450g cooking apples, peeled, quartered and cored (My dad and I just used normal apple but try use more sour once because other wise it ends up being too sweet) you can also use berries, rubber (REMEMBER TO TAKE THE LEAVES OF THE RHUBARB if you use rhubarb) or other fruits.
  2. 2 strips of lemon zest
  3. 115g caster sugar
  4. 115g unsalted buter
  5. 15g oats
  6. 60g plain flour
  7. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  8. a pinch of salt

Preheat the over to 180C/350F, gas mark 4. Put the poles in a small baking dish with 1-2 teaspoon of water, the lemon zest and 30g of sugar. Toss gently to mix. Dot with 15g of the butter. Mix the remaining sugar with the flour cinnamon and salt. Add the remaining butter and it in with your fingers until the mixture is the texture of fine breadcrumbs. Sprinkle the mixture in a thick layer over the apples. Bake fir 40 minutes or until will browned on top. Serve hot with cream, crusted or for younger kids ice-cream (vanilla goes the best)
